Melissa Brooks is a seasoned and dedicated municipal government professional with over 37 years of distinguished public service. Her extensive career reflects a steadfast commitment to integrity, operational efficiency, and excellence in local governance.
Melissa has served various high-level roles, including City Clerk, Interim City Manager, and Interim Human Resources Director. From October 2018 to January 2022, she notably held the
position of City Clerk for the City of Hampton, Georgia, where she was instrumental in driving procedural improvements and organizational effectiveness.
Renowned for her strategic leadership, Melissa has developed and implemented comprehensive citywide records management systems and standardized operating procedures across multiple departments. Her expertise in electoral administration is particularly noteworthy—having independently coordinated and administered seven full municipal election cycles without outsourcing to county services, she has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in compliance and execution.
Throughout her career, Melissa has provided executive-level support to mayors and governing bodies, upholding the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and public engagement. Her areas of expertise span records management, policy development, municipal elections, risk management, and intergovernmental relations.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Management (Cum Laude) from Shorter University a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC),underscoring her dedication to ongoing professional growth and excellence. Currently, she serves as the Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Fairburn, Georgia, where she continues to champion civic engagement, foster public trust, and support responsive governance.
Guided by a belief in the synergy between citizens, employees, and local businesses, Melissa remains passionate about strengthening the communities she serves. Outside of her professional life, Melissa is a proud wife and mother of three. Her unwavering commitment to public service continues to be fueled by a vision of ethical leadership and community empowerment.
